Ear Piercing

Do I need to book or can I just come in?
We ask that you call and book – piercing is available 10am-2pm Tuesday – Thursday, 10am – 4pm Friday and Saturday. Piercing is not available on a Monday.

From what age do you pierce children?
We pierce children from the age of 6yrs.

Is your piercing with a gun or a needle?
We pierce with the Inverness gun system, one ear at a time.

Do you re-pierce where holes have closed up?
Yes we do – as long as an old piercing has heeled well we can re-piece in the same area or in a slightly different place if positioning in the past hasn’t been correct.

What areas do you pierce?
Lobes only, generally up to 3 holes but this depends on where the cartilage starts in your ear. Please chat to us before booking for 3rd holes. We do not pierce the top of the ear, or noses.

Ear piercing aftercare procedure:

Always wash hands thoroughly before touching studs or ear.
Cleanse front and back of the ear 2 times a day with the cleansing solution provided, without removing studs.
Then rotate studs 2 or 3 times, In between cleansing, the ear should be kept DRY.
Keep hair spray, soap, shampoo and other preparations away from the ear where possible.
After shampooing, the ear should be rinsed with clean water and then cleaned with the cleansing solution provided as described above.
The piercing area should be CLEANSED with the cleansing solution provided, then kept DRY, especially after bathing, swimming or exercise.
The piercing studs are loose in the ear and cannot be tightened. This means the point of the earring is capped so that you can sleep comfortably with the earrings on. It also means the earrings cannot be over tightened and cause swelling.

DO NOT

Remove studs or handle your ears and/or studs unnecessarily.

DO

Leave studs in the ears for 6 weeks continuously. After 6 weeks, the stud can be removed and other post-type earrings may be worn continuously. We recommend cleaning the earring in the cleansing solution provided before putting the earrings on. Use only post-style earrings continuously for the first 6 months from piercing. Minor pain/redness may occur immediately – this is normal, this will settle within 48 hours provided proper after-care is carried out. If undue pain/swelling/redness occurs at any time, seek medical advice before removing the ear-piercing stud.
