Our Shop

Our beautiful shop, built back in the 12th century, perfectly reflects our individuality; with its high ceilings and original exposed wooden beams. Inside you will find something else truly unique; a jewellers filled with skilled staff members with a passion for design.

Since 1979, we have been committed to giving our clients the highest possible quality of service.

As an independent jeweller we have a unique edge, our handmade bespoke jewellery is second to none, not just because of our talented design team, but also thanks to our unique workshop located in the village. We boast a full team of experienced on-site goldsmiths, who manage each of our bespoke pieces, our repairs and our restorations.

We offer a truly unique shopping experience; bringing together carefully chosen silver and watch brands, with show-stopping luxury pieces, beside a brimming collection of engagement and wedding rings. We pride ourselves on providing something a little different for our customers, with a personal and informed service.

From first launching Hallmark Jewellers we have flourished and developed into a leading independent jewellers across the South Coast.

Mark has been in the jewellery business for all of his working life, he still gets a great thrill and sense of real privilege when asked to help with wedding and engagement rings.

Mark’s passion is having a business which delights our customers, and in which our team feel they can flourish and challenges them to be the best they can be.

Andrea Colmer

Partner

Andrea started as a Saturday Sales Assistant position at Hallmark Jewellers in 1997. Within 3 years, Andrea was made a partner.

Andrea has projected the business forward with her ideas, along with choosing unique designers, which in turn has extended our ranges and increased sales.

So much so, we needed a bigger shop! So in 2007 we greatly extended the premises to accommodate the increase in sales. Andrea is incredibly proud to have watched the business flourish from a two man team into a team of twenty.

Rebecca F

Rebecca has a 2:1 degree in sport and recreation management and is a self taught hobby jeweller, she joined the team in 2021 to manage the behind the scenes element of the business, quoting on repairs and managing the smooth progression of the commissions. Rebecca liaises with our precious metal suppliers, diamond and coloured stones dealers.

Rebecca’s passion out of work: running, triathlon and the outdoors.

Louise S

Louise joined Rebecca in the admin office in May 2022, and has become an integral cog in the admin office. Louise is responsible for coordinating our watch repairs, repairs quoting and the project management of commissions.

Louise’s passions outside of work: walking her three cavalier king charles spaniels, supporting her children’s sporting activites, running marathons and ironman.

Christian M

Christian has a 2:1 MA in Fine Art Valuation from Solent University and has worked in the Jewellery industry for over 20 years, his passion is antique jewellery and he is responsible for our inhouse jewellery valuations, buying for our high end diamond room and booking in our repair work. Christian has been with the Hallmark team for over a decade.

Christian’s passion out of work: country walks and collecting antiques.

Kirsten

Kirsten started working at Hallmark in 2004 as a full time Sales Assistant and very quickly achieved an A in Jet 1.

Kirsten has a creative role within the shop ensuring, merchandise is displayed attractively. In addition, Kirsten is responsible for, stock management, buying in new ranges and promoting our own Hallmark brands.

After joining Hallmark in 2006 as a Saturday Sales Assistant, Kirsten then went on to complete a two week work experience with us. Then joined us full time.

Since completing her Jet 1 course in 2010, Kirsten is now our Shop Floor Coordinator. Kirsten is responsible for brand customer orders and ensuring the shop floor is running efficiently.

Goldsmith

Holly has a 1st class degree in Psychology from Southampton Solent University. Having worked at a jewellers to support her studies, during her second year Holly new she wanted to be a goldsmith. After graduating Holly started as goldsmith apprentice for a jeweller in Salisbury and honed her skills before starting with Hallmark in November 2024.

Holly’s passions outside of work: paddleboarding, walking her beagle, cooking and baking.

With over 40 years of experience in the industry, working all over the world, Simon is committed to providing our customers with the highest quality experience.

As a qualified chef and maitre d, it is Simon‘s lifelong passion for hospitality and the food industry. He is known for his strong professional demeanour and loves nothing more than taking a classic and giving it a twist.

Simon works closely alongside our head chef – Rich, to ensure the freshest highest quality dishes

Rich always has exciting plans for the Wine Garden’s future and his aim is to ensure that every mouthful of his dishes take you on an exciting journey of flavour.

The Wine Garden is renowned for outstanding food and Rich is dedicated to sourcing fresh, local seasonal produce.

Liam, our vibrant and sassy team member brings a wealth of experience to The Wine Garden. With 13 years in the industry, Liam is a full time powerhouse, specialising in coffee and cocktails. His passion for these drinks is evident in every creation he crafts, ensuring each drink is the best!

Liam’s not just about drinks, he loves to keep things organised and running smoothly. His meticulous nature helps support our team and ensures we all stay on track. Liam’s organisational skills are unmatched.

With 25 years of experience as a teacher, Lou has a natural talent for connecting with people. She brings that same enthusiasm to our team, capturing the essence of our brand through her engaging content and visuals.

Her passion for food is evident in her work as she enjoys showcasing our delicious dishes in the most appetising way possible.

With her vibrant personality and creative flair, Lou is an invaluable part of our team helping us connect with our community.

Max, our incredible part time member of the team is driven by a passion of customer satisfaction.

With an impressive 33 years in hospitality, Max brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to The Wine Garden.

After taking a break to be a stay at home mum she found her way back to the industry when the buzz of the Wine Garden caught her eye – and she’s never left!

Max is the epitome of a people person. Her warm and welcoming nature makes every guest feel special and she has an innate ability to connect with others – whether sharing stories or recommending the perfect drink, Max’s dedication to creating memorable experiences shines through.

Cake obsessed expert baker Jas is a great asset to the Wine Garden team.

Jas started baking when she was a toddler and this is where her culinary journey began. She has an inspirational willingness to learn.

She loves nothing more than getting her bake on and creating our scrumptious treats, especially our white chocolate and raspberry blondie.

Cool as a cucumber and absolute queen of for all things sweet – Jas is always up for a challenge.

Saturday Barista

The beautiful soul, inside and out Flora works in The Wine Garden on a Saturday and during the summer holidays. She pours all her energy into making the best drinks for our customers, always with a smile on her face. Flora is a delight to have around and is always happy to assist with your needs.
